My husband, Dave, and I share our lives with our Labrador Retrievers, cats and horses. We enjoy our home in the countryside located between Danville and Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, which is in the middle Susquehanna Valley region.   We are a non-commercial "hobby" breeder; however, breeding is an endeavor we take very seriously. All of our dogs are AKC registered. Our pet puppies are placed with approved homes only and on AKC Limited Registration.

Kalei at school

Our first Labrador was Kalei.  Kalei passed her certification test and became a therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International (TDI). Our volunteer work as a therapy dog/handler "team" included taking part in "bite prevention" demonstrations at the local elementary school and regular visits to the children's hospital to spend time with the young patients and their families. Kalei was with us almost 15 years, into late Spring of 2005... she is greatly missed now.

Ranger

Next came our black boy, Ranger. Ranger earned his CGC at just under seven months old after completing a beginner's obedience course. I then joined the Central Pennsylvania Dog Training Club out of Selinsgrove, PA. Although I've never pursued competitive obedience beyond doing a few matches and Show and Go's, Ranger and I still enjoyed training with the club. Over the years I have volunteered in such positions as newsletter editor, publicity coordinator for the club Show and Go, and also helped in organizing the club's first fun breed match.  We had 13 wonderful years with Ranger in our life... he will always be remembered as our "buddy boy".

Mirrabelle

Since I had enjoyed showing one of our Quarter Horses in halter classes years ago, I thought I might like showing dogs in conformation. And so, our beautiful Mirrabelle came into our lives. I attended my first handling classes with Mirrabelle and entered my first shows... Mirrabelle loved to go to shows and we had so much fun, and it was a special time because we were learning together. Mirrabelle is now spayed. She continues to bring us so much joy... and no one else can role you out of bed in the morning the way Mirrabelle does!

baby Cherry

In 1997, our first Beechcroft baby would come to join us, Beechcroft's Black Cherry. We felt very honored to be entrusted with our girls from Beechcroft and take our responsibility very seriously to this day.

Gracie

Our Gracie came to us from our good friend Margo at McNeil Labradors in 2000. Gracie's dam, Int. Ch. Allendale Adagio at McNeil WC, JH, goes back to Ch. Beechcroft's Citadel WC, who is also the sire of our Cherry. " Alex " was bred to Am. Can. Dutch Ch. Beechcroft's Regal Air and we are thrilled Margo allowed us to have such a lovely puppy from that breeding.

I became a member of the National Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. in 1997. In 2000 I volunteered as web site manager for the NLRC and served in that position through August 2005.  Over the years I volunteered actively and held positions within the club, including member of the NLRC Board of Directors and as Genetic Research Fund Chairperson.  Being a member and working within the club provided me a great opportunity to learn more about preserving and bettering the breed while getting to know fellow Labrador enthusiasts and breeders from all parts of the world!

If you are thinking about bringing a Labrador puppy into your life, please be sure you are ready for a commitment of providing care for the entire life of the dog, which may be 10 to 15 years. Research the breed to make sure it is the right breed for you and read the "Guide to Buying a Labrador" before you begin your search. Remember always that dogs need food, water, shelter, adequate exercise and medical attention for their physical health, but there's more they need which we must never withhold and forget about... OUR LOVE AND COMPANIONSHIP!

Spay/Neuter Information PagesShould you decide the Labrador Retriever IS right for you, but maybe now is not the right time to raise a puppy, consider contacting a Labrador rescue group to inquire about adoption. A responsible breeder cares about their puppies beyond the point of them leaving their driveway and will offer to "take back" one of their dogs or assist in rehoming should it become necessary anytime during the life of the dog; but for far too many, this is not the case and those dogs often times end up in shelters or in rescue. Please do not contribute to the existing overpopulation of homeless and unwanted animals... spay/neuter your pet.
